Final minutes of last night's game.
The Jayhawks were simply better. The Jayhawks former coach and now Tar Heels Coach, Roy Williams had been out-coached. William's 2003 departure from Kansas was very controversial and it looks like it affected the game. The final score 84-66 left its former coach in the dust last night.
This was the Jayhawks Tar Heels first match-up in the NCAA tournaments since Williams left. The game was lost early when the Tar Heels trailed 40-12 late in the first half. No team has ever overcome a difference larger than 22 points at the Final Four, but in the first ten minutes of the second half they made everything they threw up coming within 5 points of Kansas, but that's where it ended. Hopefully that's where the animosity between the two teams ends also.
The Jayhawks will go up against the Memphis Tigers on Monday evening for the 2008 NCAA Championship.
