The Countdown for the Top 10 Unbreakable Sports Records: Numbers 7-5
7. MLB Baseball: Nolan Ryan's 7 No-Hitters
- Nolan Ryan was the 2nd youngest player when he began playing professionally in 1966. When he retired in 1993 he was Major League Baseball's oldest player. Ryan is the all-time record-holder having thrown 7 no hitters. Sandy Koufax comes 2nd with four.
6. Professional Hockey: Wayne Gretzky's 215-point Season
- Wayne Gretzky has a combined 2,857 points for all the seasons he has played in NHL Hockey. Martin Messier is nearly 1,000 points behind him. The Great One averaged 2.69 points per game. NHL play has changed so much that multiple point outbursts just can't happen now.
5. NBA Basketball: Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point Night
- Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point night was on March 2, 1962. Like Gretzky's record it won't be repeated because of changes in the NBA. During this same game Chamberlain also set records for the most field goals (36), and points in a half (5), while breaking his own previous record of 78 points in a game set earlier in the season.
