10. Boxing: Rocky Marciano's 49-0
- 1947 was the beginning of Rocky Marciano's boxing career beating Lee Epperson He went on to defeat his next 49 opponents over the next 8 years and became the first heavyweight boxer to go undefeated throughout his entire career. The only boxer to come real close to this record was Larry Holmes in 1985, who got to 48-0 before losing to Michael Spinks.
9. Formula 1 Driving: Michael Schumachers 7 Championships
- Schumacher debuted in 1991 in Formula 1 and managed a third place finish in overall driver standings just one year later. By 1994 Schumacher had won the first of 7 F1 points titles. His record for 85 race wins still stands. The closest contender is Alain Prost with a distant 51.
8. MLB Baseball: Ty Cobb .366 Career Batting Average
- Ty Cobb (the Georgia Peach) played 24 seasons from 1905 to 1928 and never hit below .316, except for his rookie year. He had over .380 hits nine times, batted over .400 three times and had a career batting average of .366. Second place, Roger Hornsby placed well behind with .366.Todd Helton of the Colorado Rockies is the closest active player entering the 2005 MLB Baseball season hitting .339.
