"Splitting the Second: My Wacky Business in Olympic and Sports Timing" is a new book by Alex Cheng, which comes out just in time for the Beijing Olympics. Cheng shares fascinating stories about Seagull, Inc. which he founded and gained the North American Rights to the high caliber timing systems made by Omega Swiss watch company.  America had very sloppy timing procedures and Omega had very precise sports timing devices and scoreboards. Cheng obtained the distribution rights. The book covers eight years of fun, stress and many fascinating behind the scenes stories.

This book is for te sports world fans who are tired of reading about the mega bucks earned by professional athletes, steroid abuse  and sports trivia about the top-rated athletes.  It is a breath of fresh air and a look into a virtually unspoken about element of the sports world- sports timing. "This is an easy-to-read book even for sports fans who don't read, " says Alex.
