UCLA coach Ben Howland speaks of his current NCAA basketball team as "the best of three", after going for the the Final Four for the the third straight time. The top-seeded UCLA Bruins ran over Xavier 76-57 last night to earn their record breaking 18th overall journey to the final four games of the 2008 NCAA Basketball Championships. The UCLA Bruins will be up against the winner of the Memphis-Texas game in San Antonio April 5.
Freshman Kevin Love is one of their secret weapons, with 19 points and 10 rebounds in last night's game. Love made 7-of-11 shots from the floor, which included 2-of-4 from beyond the arc.
Xavier coach Sean Miller made this statement about Love who is 19. "He looks like he's 25 years old when he's playing." He further stated that, "...I really felt we went about as far as we could and lost to a great team. They're unique. I'm really pulling for them. I hope we lost to a national champion."
Love had his own conclusions," ...we've got business to take care of next week and I'm not thinking about the next level right now. I'm living in the now, living in the present."
"All We Need is Love" should be the UCLA Bruins' new fight song.
