Pre-Game Predictions
Louisville NCAA basketball coach Rick Pitino said it all, "We played exactly the style of play we needed to win. (It's) very difficult sometimes for people to admit when the other team is better. But we're a very good basketball team this year, very good, and they were better tonight."
Pitino was speaking about the North Carolina Tar Heels, who have done it again winning against Louisville last night 83-73 by double digits, as they did in all four games of this NCAA tournament. The Tar heels will be up against the winner of the Kansas-Davidson next Saturday in San Antonio. This could be a potential match up between Hall of Fame Coach Roy Williams and the Jayhawks program he left behind when he returned to his UC alma mater in 2003.
Tyler Hansbrough is certainly one of Tar Heels secret weapons and a very powerful one. He made 28 points and 13 rebounds last night to lead his team to their first national semifinals since winning the NCAA basketball championship in 2005.
What is his secret? "He does the same thing in practice every day, " Williams said. "He is the most driven, focused player I've ever seen in my life. He wants to be the best player he can be and win." He does the same thing in practice every day. Even on off days. "That's who Tyler Hansbrough is."
This driven spirit to win by Hansbrough and his team mates have put NC in position for another National NCAA Basketball Championship. Wait and See!
